IAI Partners World Climate Foundation for COP28

The International Aluminium Institute (IAI), the only body representing the global primary aluminium industry, has announced collaboration with the  World Climate Foundation (WCF)   for the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28). The United Nations conference, to be hosted in The United Arab Emirates, provides a platform for world leaders, businesses, and citizens to come together to discuss their role in mitigating the climate crisis.

The IAI’s partnership with WCF is in line with IAI’s commitment to supporting sustainable aluminium production and demonstrating aluminium’s role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions through its use in products and solutions.

The aluminium industry has a pivotal role in meeting global decarbonisation goals. This is why the global industry’s contribution to the upcoming climate conference in The UAE is crucial.

The World Climate Foundation said, “WorldClimateSummit2023 is rapidly approaching, and we are delighted to share that The International Aluminium Institute are joining as Principal Partner. The International Aluminium Institute (IAI) is the only body representing the global primary aluminium industry. IAI has the most comprehensive global data on aluminium with more than 40 years of analysis on production, consumption, energy use and environmental impact.  Join The International Aluminium Institute alongside other decision-makers and industry leaders, on 7-8 December in Dubai during COP28 as they share best practices on accelerating climate action across sectors”

Speaking on the partnership, Miles Prosser, IAI Secretary General  said, “We are thrilled to be a Principal Partner of the World Climate Summit for COP28. The IAI is committed to working collaboratively to understand and better articulate credible ways to achieve global climate goals for the industry and so we’re proud of this collaboration and hope that through dialogue, policy discussions and formalised partnerships such as this, we can all address the climate challenge.”
