Aluminium cans remain the frontrunners in global recycling rates, outperforming other beverage containers in most countries studied in recent research by Eunomia Research & Consulting.
Key findings reveal that Germany, Belgium, South Korea, Sweden, Finland, and Norway are setting the pace in global recycling efforts. These countries demonstrate the potential for significant progress through effective policies and infrastructure.
The study shows aluminium cans topping “separated for recycling” rates in 19 out of 35 countries, showcasing their superior recyclability. This not only benefits the environment but also offers economic advantages in resource efficiency and waste management.
